Project Overview:
Welcome to the world of Chrauma, an immersive 3D game developed as part of our end-of-formation project at Holberton School. This game combines elements of action, puzzle, and storytelling to deliver an engaging and dynamic experience. The development team, consisting of Thomas Viard, François Colas, and myself, have poured our creativity and technical skills into bringing this project to life.
Current Progress:
Our journey in developing Chrauma has seen significant milestones. Here’s a breakdown of what we’ve accomplished so far:
Character and Enemy Models:
- Detailed and visually appealing character and enemy models have been integrated into the game.
- These models are the foundation of our visual storytelling, setting the tone for the entire game.
Basic UI:
- A functional and user-friendly interface has been implemented.
- This includes health bars, other essential elements that enhance the player's experience.
Character Movement:
- Smooth and responsive character movement has been programmed.
- Players can navigate the game world with ease, thanks to intuitive controls
Enemy Basic AI:
- Our enemies are more than just static obstacles; they move and attack based on basic AI programming.
- This adds a layer of challenge and excitement to the gameplay.
Main Menu:
- A fully operational main menu serves as the entry point to Chrauma.
- This includes options for starting a new game, and adjusting settings.
Basic Lore Concept:
- The lore of Chrauma, though still evolving, provides a rich background for the game’s events.
- This initial concept sets the stage for deeper storytelling elements to come.
Work in Progress:
While we are proud of our accomplishments, there is still much to be done to realize the full potential of Chrauma. Here’s a look at what we’re currently working on:
Battle System:
- We are in the process of developing a dynamic and strategic battle system.
- This will involve various combat mechanics, skills, and abilities to provide a challenging and engaging experience.
Maps:
- The creation of diverse and immersive maps is ongoing.
- These maps will serve as the playground for our game, each with unique challenges.
Storytelling:
- We are expanding the narrative to create a compelling storyline that drives the game forward.
- This involves detailed scriptwriting, character development, and plot progression.
Save System:
- Implementing a robust save system is a top priority.
- This will allow players to save their progress and return to their adventure seamlessly.
Animation:
- Enhancing the animations for characters and enemies is crucial for a more lifelike experience.
- This includes attack moves, special abilities, and environmental interactions.
Conclusion:
Chrauma is a testament to our dedication and hard work as developers at Holberton School. With a strong foundation already in place and exciting features on the horizon, we are committed to delivering a demo game that is not only fun to play but also showcases our technical and creative abilities. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to bring Chrauma to life!
